Each week, we bring you the top 5 amazing, ridiculous or just plain awesome pet and animal stories from around the web. We call them, the Furry Five:
5. Chickens hatch a plan to take your money playing tic-tac-toe
For over 50 years guests have come from all around the world to gamble by playing tic-tac-toe with a live chicken at the Chinatown Fair arcade in New York. After being forced to shut down due to a rent dispute that lead to new management, the place was reopened- … but without the chickens. While most people hoping to see the crazy chicken act in person are disappointed by the change, those loyal die-hards who still want to cluck their luck at the game can hop on the highways and drive to Monticello Casino and Raceway in New York.
The craziest thing isn’t just that people come from all over to play a game with a chicken. What’s crazy is that the chicken is so good it actually wins most of the time. I know what you’re saying, but how? No one really knows. All Monticello Casino really knows is that those winged animals are a great draw for business.

4. Turtle gets groovy with a shoe
This turtle is enjoying this shoe a little too much, and the noises it’s making proves that. But hey, we’re all just trying to have a good time, right?
3. Coroner confirms death of baby back in 1980 to be legitimately because of a dingo
“Maybe a dingo at your baby,” as Julia Louis-Dreyfus‘ Elaine of Seinfeld so cleverly quipped in one episode. It was in response to an annoying character who wouldn’t stop referring to her significant other as her “baby”. Never has that phrase been so correct except now. When the show aired, news had broke of a missing baby and a theory of that baby having been scooped up by a dingo was widely accepted, but no evidence actually pointed to that being the fact… until now! Coroners in Australia have finally put the case to rest and ruled that a dingo was the one who had in fact taken the 9-week-old baby those 32 years ago.

1. Psychic Raccoons
Following in the footsteps of the “psychic” octopus, this “psychic” raccoon who makes his home at the Bristol Zoo Gardens in southwest England, put forth his powers toward predicting the outcome of the opening match of the Euro 2012 between England and France. It’s no secret this raccoon may have been a little biased, because he predicted that England would prevail in this game. When presented with two pots with equal amounts of food marked with the shirts of the opposing teams, Rocky the raccoon was quick to choose the one labeled England.
Unfortunately, this raccoon did not have quite the success his octopus counterpart had, however he was not completely wrong in his prediction because England and France went on to tie.
